What a Kaspi cashier is
Cashier is a limited employee role in Kaspi Pay. According to the official Kaspi Guide, a cashier can accept Kaspi QR and remote payments and issue refunds. The role does not need company administration or broader banking permissions.
Accept payments
Kaspi QR and remote payments for the assigned point of sale.
Track operations
Check payment results within the cashier's granted access.
Issue refunds
Refund accessible operations without a broader employee role.
Tole does not become an employee of your company and does not receive executive, manager, or accountant access. It uses the connected cashier session to automate permitted payment actions.
Three conditions for a compatible number
These are requirements of Tole's current SMS connection flow, not an exhaustive list of Kaspi rules. Kaspi may change its UI and internal checks.
A real Kazakhstan SIM
Kaspi sends an SMS code, so the SIM must receive messages and be available during setup. Virtual and VoIP numbers are unsuitable for this flow.
An adult owner
Kaspi lists 18 as the minimum age. Use a number the company is authorized to operate and obtain the owner's explicit consent.
A dedicated Cashier role
For the most predictable SMS flow, avoid combining executive, manager, or accountant roles and the owner's business profile on this number.
The safest choice is a dedicated integration SIM controlled by the company. Record its owner, responsible employee, and the date its activity was last checked.
How to add a cashier
This is the current path in the official Kaspi Guide. Labels may vary slightly by app version.
Open Kaspi Pay
Sign in as an executive, manager, or accountant allowed to add cashiers.
Open employees
Services → Company profile → Employees → Add.
Choose the role
Select Cashier, the point of sale, name, and prepared phone number.
Do not sign in in advance
Wait for the SMS. Open Tole dashboard → Connections and enter the number there.
Enter the code in Tole
Kaspi sends the SMS code. Enter it in the open Tole window and wait for Connected status.
The key diagnostic: SMS or password
Tole onboarding continues only when Kaspi sends the number to the one-time SMS code step.
Kaspi asks for an SMS code
The number is compatible with the current flow. Keep Tole open, wait for the message, and enter the code once.
Kaspi asks for a password or video
The current Tole SMS flow cannot finish. Do not guess passwords or start repeated attempts; use another dedicated number or contact support.
“Kaspi Pay did not accept the number” means Kaspi did not open the EnterOtp step. Tole does not receive and must not expose a password, video flow, or Kaspi's internal rejection reason.
After a successful connection
The connection retains a dedicated trusted-device and session context. Treat the number as infrastructure.
- Avoid signing into Kaspi Pay with the cashier number on another device; a new login may terminate Tole's session.
- Do not remove the cashier from the point of sale or change the role while the connection is in use.
- Keep the SIM active with a minimal balance and periodically verify incoming SMS.
- If the session expires, use Re-authenticate on the Tole connection instead of creating a duplicate till.
- Before launch, issue a test invoice to see which cashier name or number the buyer sees and inform the number owner.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a relative's or employee's number?
A consenting adult's number without a conflicting profile may technically work, but the company must be authorized to use it. A dedicated company-controlled number is safer.
Will the owner's personal Kaspi stop working?
The regular Kaspi.kz app and a Kaspi Pay employee role are separate. Signing into Kaspi Pay with this number can still affect the Tole session.
Why not use a virtual number?
The flow requires Kaspi SMS and long-term control of the number. A virtual number may reject messages or be reassigned.
What if the SMS never arrives?
Do not start many attempts. Check coverage, incoming SMS, and the number. If delivery is unknown, enter a code already received or retry later.
